What is HENRY?

HENRY started as “Health, Exercise and Nutrition for the Really Young” and over the years they have developed into the UK’s leading healthy start provider. They offer a range of training and family support which support all aspects of child development.

HENRY in Shetland

The HENRY project began in Shetland following feedback from parents and carers who identified a need for healthy lifestyle support during the early years. And in 2020/21 additional funding was provided for Health Boards to support early years prevention projects.

So far the project has focussed on capacity building by commissioning HENRY training for staff working with children and families across various early years settings. This training has improved staff skills, knowledge and confidence in discussing family lifestyles and any changes, or support, families be interested in.
