Is vaping safe?

Using vapes is less harmful than smoking tobacco. Vapes were not intended for use by children and young people or non-smokers, because they are health harming products. They are useful only as a potential route towards stopping smoking.

E-cigarettes or vapes, are still relatively new and rapidly evolving products.  Research into the safety and effectiveness of e-cigarettes is not well established and their long-term impacts are not yet fully known.

The best evidence available suggests that using a vape instead of smoking tobacco will benefit your health.  The benefit is not from the vape, but from no longer smoking tobacco.

When vaping, harmful substances are inhaled and the effects on lung health is not fully known. Our lungs need only oxygen in them when we breathe, and therefore we are putting our respiratory system under pressure to remove any unwanted substances and vapours.
