Physical Activity & Mood

Physical activity and mood is this week’s focus for mental health and wellbeing month.The links between physical activity and positive mental wellbeing are well reported.  Adults who participate in daily physical activity can expect a 20-30% lower risk of suffering depression and a 20-30% lower risk of experiencing distress.  All this week events across Shetland will be taking place encouraging people to be physically active.  Details of activities for the week can be found below (including opportunities to join others and get physically active)

Monday 11th Sept - Free Jazzercise taster at Sandwick Social Club 6.30pm

Wednesday 13th Sept - Health Improvement - Health walk – 12:30pm Meet at Library. 

Wednesday 13th Sept - Salvation Army – Prayer & hand massage at café 11.30 – 1.30pm

Thursday 14th Sept - Salvation Army – Film ‘To The Bone’ 1 – 3pm

Thursday 14th Sept - Free Jazzercise taster at Sandwick Social Club 6.30pm
