Are you in on the #SPAW15 roadshow?

7-12th September is Suicide Prevention Awareness Week and the "Let's talk about suicide prevention awareness roadshow" will again be touring the length and breadth of Shetland. If that's too much of a mouthful, look out for #SPAW15!

Keep an eye out for the team who'll be on the road all week before finishing up with an awareness raising charity football match on Saturday 12th September, 1pm, Clickimin Junior pitch. The MYH Dream Team line-up is strictly hush-hush until kick-off but insider sources say it is a sight not to be missed!

The key message for this year's roadshow is that there is no shame in saying I'm not fine, and it is okay to ask for help. Mind Your Head have teamed up with Choose Life to tour the isles in a vehicle generously loaned by Jim's Garage.

The tour will see them delivering school assemblies in Unst, Yell and Brae, and launching a new initiative called "Da Grubby Hut" (roughly translated this is the place you have your break at work, and eat your grub box (lunchbox)!). The “Grubby Huts” project has been designed to go into workplaces and encourage help-seeking behaviour while promoting mental health positively.  Anouska Civico from Mind Your Head explained “It provides an opportunity for us to start conversations about mental health and wellbeing with an important target group whilst also gathering information to help inform our new support services.”

Keep an eye on local news, Mind Your Head website, and social media to find out where you can catch the roadshow. Good luck team #SPAW15!
