**UPDATE** NHS Shetland Staff Ferry Bookings

Following new measures introduced by SIC we have now set up a NHS business account with SIC Ferries.


Cards will be available to collect from the main GBH reception from Wednesday 15th April. Can you please ensure your staff who require cards for business travel are made aware of this and arrange to collect their cards. Reception will take a note of each person receiving a card so we can allocate expenditure to the correct department. Please share cards within departments if possible as we’ve only been allocated 50 cards initially.

Bookings can be made in advance of travel by either phoning or emailing the booking office.

Please can you ensure that staff fully understand that these cards are for business travel only and if they need cards for their everyday commute / personal use they must open a separate personal account for that purpose.

Information for staff travelling on ferries as part of their working day

From Monday 6th April Shetland Islands Council will be introducing 'Restricted Timetables' throughout the Inter-Islands Ferry Service which may change how you book/pay for your usual work travel.

In addition to the timetable changes all payment for travel must be made through Account Cards and all travel on ferries must be booked – NHS Shetland has ordered a number of cards which will be available shortly to relevant staff, in the meantime make it clear when booking that you are booking under NHS Shetland account but card has not yet been received, and the booking will be charged to the account.
